Introduction
By accessing the tuition services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, you must not use the service.
About Tutorian Tuition
Katherine is a sole trader and owner of Tutorian Tuition. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from The Cambridge School of Art, a PGCE at MA level from Northumbria University and the NASENCO (National Award for SEN Coordination) from The University of Hertfordshire. Katherine was awarded QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in 2011 and has been a full time teacher since. Tutorian Tuition was founded in 2020 to provide private tuition in English, Maths, and 11+ studies across KS1- KS4 as well as SEN support for all ages.
Fees and Payment
The fees will be calculated at a rate agreed in advance between the Tutor and the Client and booked as a block of sessions. Pricing information is available at www.tutoriantuition.com. All payments must be made up front before any lessons commence. Your tutor will not deliver a tutorial unless payment has been received.
When using BACS please use the reference of ‘TUTORIAN’ followed by your students initials. I.e If David Smith is receiving a block of online tuition sessions we would expect the reference : TUTORIANDS. If you do have any questions regarding payments, please contact your Tutor.

Client Obligations
The Client must provide a quiet place for the pupil to work, free from interruptions and with access to suitable equipment. Sessions will begin promptly at the agreed time for the agreed duration. A link to the meeting will be emailed prior to the start time. The pupil will need something to write with - pencil for maths, pen or pencil for English. Pupils will be provided with a black Tutorian Tuition folder to keep paper tasks in. Squared maths books and lined English work books will also be provided. It may be advantageous for clients to have access to a printer.
Cancellation Policy
Should you need to cancel a session due to illness or other reason please provide as much notice as possible (at least 24 hours.) Every endeavour will be made to reschedule the session at convenient time, however this may not always be possible. If you give your tutor less than 24 hours notice you will be charged for the missed tutorial.

In the case of holidays, the Client should give Tutorian Tuition at least one week's notice in order to reschedule sessions. If the Tutor needs to cancel a lesson, as much notice as possible will be given and the Client’s lesson will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.

If either of you is prevented from attending by a genuine emergency, please agree this directly between you.

If a tutorial is interrupted by a technical problem at your tutor’s end (such as machine breakdown or an interruption to the connection) additional time will be added to the next session to make up for lost time.
If the tutorial is interrupted by a technical problem at your end the charge for the tutorial will not be reduced.

If either you or your tutor decides to stop the tutorials permanently, you will give each other at least 2 weeks’ notice.

Additional Group Tuition Policy
There will be no refunds given for missed sessions as the group will still run in the case of absence. Whiteboard slides will be emailed to the Client in the case of absence, along with any agreed homework.
Additional 11+ Tuition Policy
The Tutor may make reasonable requests for additional purchases, such as practice assessments and workbooks. It is the responsibility of the Client to purchase these goods, and tuition may not continue without them. Free digital or printed resources will be utilised as much as possible. The Tutor does not accept responsibility for exam results.
Safeguarding
The Client must not record or take any photos during the sessions. The Tutor may record sessions or take photos, but only with the written permission of all Clients. The Tutor will never contact the pupil outside of sessions and the pupil must not make contact either. During lessons, parents and carers are welcome to be in the vicinity. If the Tutor has any safeguarding concerns, any relevant agencies will be notified.

Refunds
Once you pay for a block of tutorials your tutor will reserve the dates and times agreed with you. Should you choose to stop tuition before you have had all tutorials it is most unlikely that your tutor will be able to find another client for exactly that time, so will lose income. For this reason you will not be refunded the cost of the outstanding tutorials.
